Production Supervisor

We are hiring a Production Supervisor on day shift at our Traverse City facility. The role is responsible for supervising UAW employees on the shop floor and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, production, and housekeeping. Job Responsibilities Manage production in the home area while improving safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Participate in continuous improvement efforts through Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean initiatives. Set work schedules for area of responsibility, and manage cross training schedules for direct reports. Determine root cause solutions for quality issues, safety issues, and production issues in area of responsibility. Job Requirements HS Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred. 1-2 years’ supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union environment. Understanding of OSHA & MIOSHA safety standards in a manufacturing environment. Experience supervising maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferred.Experience managing production schedules and working successfully through people to accomplish objectives. Understanding of Lean concepts as applied in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Kanban a plus. Due to the nature of our business, candidates must be a US Person and authorized to work in the US. Will occasionally cover peers’ time off on other shifts and/or weekends. May require access to United States export controlled technical data ("CTD") and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).
