POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. The patient care process includes:
* Assessment - an orderly process consisting of the identification, gathering and organization of subjective and objective data pertaining to the patient/family/significant other, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural.
* Planning - an organized step in the process that consists of the identification of actual or potential problems and desired outcomes (goals) that result in a documented plan of care. The plan of care provides direction for the patient/family/significant other and interdisciplinary team.
* Intervention - the specific interventions or orders that are implemented consistent with the plan of care and medical treatment plan.
* Evaluation - a step in the process that involves determining the effectiveness of the interventions in achieving the plan of care and determining the conclusions concerning the achievement or lack of achievement of desired outcomes. The evaluation may initiate the need for reassessment and revisions to the problems, goals, plan of care, and interventions. This step provides for documentation of required actions. Based upon findings identified during assessment and reassessment:
* Patients have problems identified and prioritized relative to biophysical, psychological, environmental, self care, educational and social status.
* Goals are identified consistent with the problem to provide direction for patient care and health promotion.
* Education is consistent with the identified problem and associated goals and is seen as critical to creating an environment that promotes patient empowerment
* Employee may be required to perform Limited Laboratory Services to include: patient identification and preparation for specimen collection, processing samples for testing, performing required quality control testing and instrument maintenance and function checks, monitoring, recording and reporting tests results to clinicians to include critical values, and maintaining competency/certification of the aforementioned tasks and duties.

EDUCATION/LICENSE: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license required. BLS required. Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

ACLS required within 6 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter. Minimum of 8 contact hours of education every 1 year in basic trauma assessment, intervention and stabilization; PALS or ENPC, with PALS or ENPC provider status attained within 12 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/Intermediate Care Unit 2-4 years neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience preferred. NRP (NALS), required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
Mother/Baby Unit (OB) 2-4 years mother/baby experience preferred. NRP (NALS), required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
Perinatology 3 years labor and deliver experience preferred. OB certification required
Operating Room Minimum 1 year medical/surgical experience desired; 1-2 years operating room experience preferred. CNOR preferred.
ACLS preferred.
Critical Care (ICU) 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years critical care experience preferred. ACLS required within
1 year from date of hire or transfer. CCRN preferred Specialty

3 Pines/3 Central 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred. Effective February 18th 2020, ACLS is required for all currently hired employees on 3 Pines. Current Incumbents are required ACLS by December 31st 2021.
Incumbents hired after December 31st, 2021, will have 6 mos from date of hire or transfer to obtain ACLS.
Medical/Surgical
(2S, 4H, 5H, 7H, 4 M) 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
Dialysis
(renal, acute) 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years dialysis experience preferred. ACLS required within one year of date of hire or transfer.
Psychiatry
(1 West 1 Pines) PIP if not a screener 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years psychiatry experience preferred. (QPRT) annual education required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer Crisis Prevention; Intervention annual education preferred and both are tracked by department leadership. . (Psychiatric intervention program) 1-2 yrs medical/surgical experience preferred; 3 years psychiatry experience one of which is in a crisis setting required. Crisis Prevention Intervention annual education preferred and is tracked by department leadership. Current NJ State Certification as a Mental Health Screener required.
Valid New Jersey Drivers License is required and MVA check upon hire or transfer

Oncology
(1 south/ 1 Meadow) 1 --2 years medical/surgical experience preferred. Chemotherapy experience preferred. Effective 2/21, all employees within job codes are required to ACLS; within 1 year from date of hire or transfer. Chemotherapy certification preferred.
Endoscopy Minimum 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 yrs. endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred. ACLS required a 6

Cath Lab Cardiac/vascular conditions and diseases including but not limited to: CAD, carotid stenosis, renal stenosis, PVD, etc.
Critical Care Acute medical/surgical care of skeletal muscular, renal orthoconditions and diseases including but not limited to: AMI, CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, shock, renal failure, metabolic disorders, etc.
Behavioral Health Behavioral health illnesses including but not limited to bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, psychosis, etc..
Dialysis Patients with acute or chronic renal failure or chronic renal disease.
Endoscopy Chronic pain management, endoscopic procedures of cardiovascular, GI, pulmonary conditions and disease, etc..
Emergency Department Triage, assess and treat patients of all age presenting for emergency care for all body systems, conditions and diseases including but not limited to: coronary, pulmonary, neuro, skeletal muscular, GI/metabolic, GU/renal, GYN, integumentary, etc.. Intermediate Care Monitored post-surgical care including but not limited to neuro, GI, GU/GYN, peripheral vascular interventions, orthopedic procedures, etc.. Medical diagnoses including but not limited to: cardiac, pulmonary, neuron, GI, VCA/TIA and renal conditions, etc..
Medical Surgical Medical/Surgical diagnoses including but not limited to orthopedic, neuron, GI, GU/GYN, renal, metabolic, pulmonary systems and those requiring isolation/precautions.
Telemetry/Medical/Surgical Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, GI conditions and diseases including not limited to: CAD, PVD, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders, etc.
Telemetry/Stroke Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuron, renal, GI conditions and diseases including but not limited to: CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders, etc.
Wound Care Ostomy diversion surgeries, wound care, pressure sore/ulcer etc..
Structural Heart Adults with Structural Heart disease and other comorbid conditions including but not limited to: CAD, PAD, Heart Failure, Lung disease, Obesity, Diabetes, Arrhythmias REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
