Mechanic Intern – New Iberia, Louisiana Responsible for gaining exposure to career opportunities within the oil and gas technology industry. This person discovers Schlumberger's role in the industry and the lifestyle associated with the job. Responsibilities Learn about the oil and gas industry. Follow prescribed internship guidelines for each week as closely as possible. Work 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with some on‑call and weekend shifts as required. After the internship, transition to a 3‑week on / 3‑week off rotation; some offshore work may be required. Qualifications Recent graduate of a diesel mechanic school or other mechanical degree. Experience repairing Detroit and Caterpillar diesel engines. Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulics and basic electronics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Local candidates preferred; no relocation will be offered. Must be able to work 40+ hours per week.
