Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantLocation: College Park, Maryland, USAJob Type: Full-Time (Hybrid / On-site with remote flexibility)Responsibilities:Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including payroll accruals for US and international entitiesManage and reconcile general ledger accounts including Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, and AccrualsEnsure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standardsCoordinate with vendors and internal teams to estimate and record unbilled expensesRecord RSU and stock-based compensation data in collaboration with Payroll and Equity teamsCash Management and ReconciliationsPerform daily cash monitoring and transaction categorization in ERP systems (NetSuite)Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesConduct balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentationAudit and Compliance SupportSupport external auditors during year-end audits by preparing required documentation and schedulesMaintain internal documentation of accounting processesSupport internal control compliance and financial accuracyQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance1 to 3 years of professional accounting experienceStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to manage deadlines and multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented and self-motivatedPreferred:Experience with Big Four or national accounting firmsFamiliarity with NetSuite ERPExposure to Dayforce or Papaya systemsStrong understanding of accrual accounting processesAbility to quickly learn new systems and improve financial workflowsStrong problem-solving mindsetBenefits and Compensation:Base salary range: $73,439 to $95,767 annuallyTotal compensation includes bonus and equity opportunitiesComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) matching programUnlimited PTO and paid holidaysParental and adoption leaveLegal insurance and home technology stipendAccess to professional development and training programsHybrid work flexibility depending on team needsOther Information:Travel requirement: up to 10% domestic or internationalMust meet U.S. export control eligibility requirementsCandidates must be U.S. persons (citizen, permanent resident, or authorized under applicable law)IonQ is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and fair hiring practicesBackground verification and compliance checks are part of the hiring process
