Packing ManagerWe are seeking an experienced, results-driven Packing Manager to lead warehouse packing and order fulfillment operations. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing workflows, and maintaining high packing standards to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent planning, analytical skills, and hands-on experience with warehouse systems and shipping operations.Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations & Order FulfillmentOversee daily packing and fulfillment to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on timeMonitor order flow, prioritize urgent shipments, and maintain productivity and quality standardsMaintain packing standards including quality, labeling, and material usageTeam Leadership & Workforce ManagementSupervise, train, and manage warehouse staff (pickers/packers)Assign tasks and set performance expectations (KPIs such as accuracy and pick rates)Manage schedules, labor allocation, and overtimeConduct evaluations and provide coaching or corrective actionPromote accountability, safety, and continuous improvementInventory Accuracy & ControlMonitor inventory levels, accuracy, and locations within systemsPartner on cycle counts, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolutionInvestigate short picks, damages, and mispicksEnsure proper practices such as FIFO, lot, or serial trackingProcess Optimization & Continuous ImprovementAnalyze workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errorsImplement Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiativesIdentify bottlenecks and optimize layout and picking strategiesQuality Control & AccuracyEnsure high order accuracy standards (target 99%+)Conduct audits of picking and packing processesReduce errors, returns, and damages through improvementsTechnology & Systems ManagementUtilize WMS to track orders and inventoryEnsure proper use of RF scanners and barcode systemsTroubleshoot system issues with IT supportMaintain accurate inventory and order dataSafety & ComplianceEnforce OSHA and warehouse safety standardsConduct safety training and incident investigationsEnsure proper PPE use and safe handling proceduresMaintain a clean, organized work environmentShipping & Carrier CoordinationCoordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL) for timely shipmentsManage shipping documentation and labelingResolve delays and delivery issuesReporting & KPI ManagementTrack and report KPIs (order accuracy, picks/hour, shipments, productivity)Provide regular reports and use data to drive improvementsCustomer SupportPartner with customer service to resolve fulfillment issuesSupport urgent or high-priority shipmentsQualificationsHigh school diploma required; bachelor's preferred (Logistics, Supply Chain, Business)5+ years of warehouse/fulfillment experience with leadershipStrong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory controlExperience with WMS, RF scanners, and shipping softwareStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and KPI reportingPreferred SkillsExperience with Lean, 5S, or KaizenKnowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety complianceAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesBilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
