Job Title: Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney


Location: Cincinnati, OH


Compensation: $115,000+ DOE + Formula-Based Bonus Structure


About the Role


A dynamic mid-sized litigation firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney with 3 to 5+ years of experience to join its Cincinnati office. Medical malpractice accounts for nearly 50% of the firm's business, making this a pivotal position within a core practice area.


This role is designed for litigators currently stuck in brief-writing roles at larger firms who want immediate hands-on courtroom, deposition, and trial experience, along with a clear path to partnership.


Key Responsibilities

• Manage medical malpractice defense cases from intake through trial.
  
  
• Conduct depositions, draft substantive motions, and represent clients directly in court.
  
  
• Work closely with senior trial attorneys on complex medical litigation.
  
  
• Maintain an attainable billable goal of 1,800 hours per year.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• 3 to 5+ years of defense experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or insurance defense (defense side required).
  
  
• Strong courtroom presence, writing skills, and advocacy capabilities.
  
  
• Active Ohio state bar license in good standing.
  
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: Starting at $115,000+ depending on experience.
  
  
• Bonus Structure: Formula-based cash bonus plus a percentage of brought-in business.
