Litigation Legal Assistant

Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP is seeking highly organized and proactive person with a minimum of 2 years’ experience to support attorneys in our Litigation Department in its Florham Park Office. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling civil and commercial litigation matters Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery documents, subpoenas, and correspondence Electronically file documents in state and federal courts and ensure compliance with court rules and filing deadlines Maintain attorney calendars, docket deadlines, and manage court appearances and internal schedules Assist with discovery management, including organizing, indexing, and tracking discovery materials Prepare deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial materials, including exhibits and binders Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors Open, maintain, and close client files in accordance with firm procedures Track service of process and coordinate with process servers Assist with billing entries, timekeeping, and expense tracking as required Perform general administrative duties, including correspondence, file management, and document organization Support attorneys with other litigation-related tasks as assigned The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines. The candidate must maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as an integral member of the practice group. Job related experience is required; paralegal certificate a plus. Knowledge of civil and commercial litigation procedures and court rules and experience handling confidential information is required. Experience in corporate law a plus. The annualized salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
