Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Oakland, California. Job Summary The registered nurse position in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is based in Oakland, California. This role involves providing specialized patient care for adolescents, infants, and adults recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. The position requires a California licensed registered nurse (RN) who must bring their license on the first day of assignment. Job Details Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/18/2026 Duration: 14 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days (variable start time) Employment Type: Travel Pay Package: Based on 10‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week, subject to confirmation, with a tax‑free stipend. Responsibilities Provide post‑anesthesia care for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, infants, and adults. Support a dynamic environment and multiple patient diagnoses with a focus on recovery and post‑operative care. Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members—respiratory services, interpretation and social services, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. Float across ICU, PACU, CVICU, ED, and pediatrics units as required. Adhere to safety and procedural protocols throughout the assignment. Qualifications Valid California RN license and a BSN degree. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similarly paced environment. Experience with Epic and Cerner electronic medical record systems; experience with Meditech is a plus. Teaching hospital experience and trauma level 1 experience preferred. Willingness to float and adhere to safety and procedural protocols. Benefits Private housing or generous housing allowance.
