The position also participates in the facility’s quality improvement initiatives and supports ongoing efforts to enhance resident care and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Coordinate and lead the facility-wide Infection Prevention and Control Program.

• Monitor and analyze process and outcome measures to assess the effectiveness and sustainability of infection prevention efforts.

• Stay current on infection prevention and control regulatory and accreditation standards, ensuring compliance.

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of staging system of wounds.

• Develops skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown.

• Demonstrates knowledge and skill to develop and implement policies and procedures to manage patients with draining wounds, fistulae and/or tubes, wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence.

• Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan for effectiveness.

• Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services with nursing scope of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Valid Illinois State license(s) related to healthcare (e.g., RN, LPN, or LVN, depending on state requirements).

• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) is a must. (Goldwater Care will pay for IP Certification if not already certified) 

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Reliable transportation.

• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination or exemption.

• One year of experience in infection prevention and control is preferred.
