Budget Analyst

We seek a Budget Analyst who will thrive in a challenging, rewarding, process-oriented environment. As a contributor to the efforts of the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab Headquarters G-8 Staff, you will design and implement financial management strategies that support the success of science and technology portfolios. You will partner with project managers and task leads to build practical funding plans that help clients obtain the resources necessary to accomplish their objectives.

Drawing on your understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and policies, you will assist clients in developing clear, compliant, and well-structured requirements. After funding is secured, you will help ensure those resources are managed effectively through disciplined tracking, reporting, and ongoing coordination with project managers and task leads. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to advanced technology initiatives while applying your financial analysis expertise to drive mission success.

Location:

• This position is located on-site in Stafford, VA

Responsibilities:

• Prepare drafts and recommendations for financial planning and resourcing decisions including plans and budgets.
• Monitor program financial execution and identify issues to management. Ensure financial information is synchronized with other decision support systems.
• Monitor and document funding additions, reductions, and movements of resources.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets that document program specific financial data at detailed level.
• Coordinate with various offices regarding funding issues.

Security Clearance:

• US Citizenship required
• Secret clearance required at start

Education and Experience:

• PMP required
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or project management
• 5+ years of experience in project management, contract management, financial management, and budgeting
• Experience with SAPs Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP ) financial system
• MS Excel
• Financial database and web/database application experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience working on Office of Naval Research (ONR) financial processes, procedures, financial systems
• Experience managing technology programs
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
