Associate Principal of Early College Curriculum and Instruction New Heights Charter School of Brockton – Brockton, Massachusetts. Starting date: July 1, 2026. Job Description New Heights Charter School is Massachusetts’ only public school that involves all grades (6‑12) in the Early College approach. Nearly all 11th and 12th‑graders are full‑time students on a college campus, and younger students earn college credits at the school. We provide academic and social‑emotional support to young people from high‑need backgrounds, ensuring they are college and career‑ready. We support staff with professional development and coaching. As a member of the Early College Team (grades 11‑12), this position will take a lead role in the development and fine‑tuning of curriculum, instructional protocols and procedures, observations and evaluations, school policies, and enrichment activities. Reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, the Associate Principal will assist in the overall administration of educational programs by overseeing the implementation of a high‑level, standards‑based instructional program and learning environment from high school through early college. The AP promotes close working relationships with parents, students, and staff and keeps the AED informed of emerging issues. Instructional Leadership Design and implement engaging, student‑centered curriculum and instructional practices for grades 11‑12 that increase participation, motivation, and academic success among disengaged and at‑risk learners Lead the implementation of an innovative credit recovery program that combines competency‑based learning, individualized support, and data‑driven interventions to improve graduation outcomes Assist the Early College Leaders in providing exemplary leadership to the school community to achieve outstanding performance in preparing each student for college Assist in developing and communicating strategic school systems, culture, and vision, and building a plan to achieve that vision Assist in leading all aspects of Data‑Driven Instruction, Professional Development, Observation & Feedback Assist in implementing effective assessment systems and using data to inform decisions; curriculum development and assessment; ensuring consistency and alignment with state standards Teacher Coaching & Evaluation (Grades 11 & 12) Assist in providing school‑wide leadership and assist the AED in district‑related responsibilities Conduct daily teacher observations and provide real‑time feedback to move the needle on student achievement in conjunction with grade‑level and instructional leaders Assist in ensuring all faculty provide well‑managed and rigorous daily lessons, reasonable homework, and productive after‑school tutoring Assist the AED in holding teachers accountable for meeting a high bar for student performance, including special education accommodations and IEP modifications in partnership with the Special Education Team Cultural Leadership Assist in building a joyful and rigorous school culture Assist in fostering consistency in academic and behavioral expectations Assist in collaborating with staff to support students’ academic and socio‑emotional development Ensure that traditions and rituals supporting the school’s early college mission are built and maintained, grade by grade, year to year Support staff in the effectiveness of after‑school enrichment programs Support staff in maintaining a positive, safe, and structured culture of high expectations Assist staff in appraising performance of all students Assist the Whole Child Study Team in coordinating, delivering, and supervising special education and student services Assist in supervising students in cafeterias, halls, bus area, and other congregate locations when needed Make disciplinary judgments for students, assign detentions or appropriate disciplinary measures Keep accurate records of student disciplinary action and report to the Early College Leaders Communicate regularly with families, keeping them involved and accountable for their children’s performance and corresponding about school policies, trips, and events Respond to family concerns promptly and effectively Essential Qualifications Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and follow‑through Leadership ability in curriculum and staff development, supervision and evaluation, and program evaluation Strong familiarity with the Massachusetts Early College Designation Relentless dedication to improve the minds, characters, and lives of students Strong record of driving outstanding student results Flexible and able to adapt to rapid change Effective communication skills Strong data analysis skills Interest in and passion for supporting teacher growth Ability to provide high‑leverage feedback via classroom observations aligned to standards Grit, personal responsibility, and commitment to continual professional growth Strong communication skills with teachers, students, families, and colleagues At least 5 years teaching and coaching in classrooms, preferably in urban schools and/or communities A Master’s degree (required) Experience as a Lead Teacher, Instructional Coach, Dean, or equivalent leadership role (required) SKILLS Proficiency in Google Suite Proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills Ability to travel for programming, residency, and development opportunities Position Type Full‑time Salary $110,000 to $120,000 Per Year Equal Opportunity Employer New Heights Charter School of Brockton is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information, or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
