Surgical Oncology Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Surgical Oncology Medical Assistant for a fast-paced clinic. The role includes non-oncologic infusions in addition to chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Experience with solid mass and hematologic cancer diagnoses is required. The schedule includes Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day. Standard Caribbean Blue scrubs are required but not provided. EPIC documentation and SBAR communication are utilized. Support from pharmacy and social services is available, as well as in-house NP coverage. The ideal candidate will have experience with the following tasks:

• Adult outpatient oncology care
• 12 Lead ECG administration
• Hearing screening
• Height and weight measurement
• Pulse oximetry
• Vision testing
• Vital sign monitoring (blood pressure, respirations, temperature, pulse)
• Patient history and medications documentation
• Biopsy and dressing changes
• Specimen labeling
• Urine analysis (UA/Clean Catch)
• Venipuncture
• Blood glucose monitoring via glucometer
• Pregnancy testing
• Strep testing
• Urinalysis
• Authorizing forms and insurance verification
• Patient pharmacy calls and refill requests
• Telephone triage
• Administration of medications
• Follow-up phone calls and patient rooming
• Reviewing lab tests

Preferred skills include: OB/GYN experience, immunizations, intradermal and intramuscular injections.
