Details Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/15/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 hours Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities L&D Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery of a baby. They must ensure medical and emotional needs of patients are met throughout the birthing process. Responsibilities include: Assist physicians with epidurals or pain medications, episiotomies, and cesarean delivery preparations. Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor. Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques. Check cervix periodically to monitor progression or lack of dilation. Ensure beds remain clean and dry; clean bodily fluids before and after birthing. Assist physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc. Provide immediate care of newborn. Qualifications Minimum 3 years recent acute care experience. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN, NRP, and 3 Year RN license. Additional certifications may be required before assignment. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds. Good stress coping skills and ability to relate to all ages and backgrounds.
