Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Care Manager, GYN, Obstetrics RN

The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting. Supports individuals and families across the continuum of care. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Administers medications and treatments. Performs clinical procedures. Provides patient education and care coordination in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams. Ensures accurate documentation and adherence to infection control and regulatory standards. Promotes quality outcomes, patient safety, and culturally responsive care in a fast-paced ambulatory environment. Maintains skill sets, annual competencies, and certifications. Participates in in-services and educational programs within the clinic and community as assigned. Completes all mandatory training and attends staff meetings. Adheres to infection control policy and procedures. Maintains a clean and safe working environment, including adequate supplies and upkeep of unit and equipment. Reports any defective or missing equipment and safety hazards. Resolves problems with patients or coworkers through appropriate channels. Addresses employee concerns consistent with established policies. Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care. Implements and evaluates nursing interventions and patient responses. Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates appropriate interventions or escalation of care. Delivers patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs. Exercises independent nursing judgment in determining appropriate nursing actions, interventions, and priorities. Integrates clinical findings with ethical principles, cultural considerations, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements when making nursing decisions. Accepts accountability for nursing decisions, delegated tasks, and outcomes of nursing care. Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care. Facilitates referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of services. Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record. Advocates for patient care and assists patients in navigating the healthcare system. Practices within the nursing scope and adheres to regulatory, safety, and infection prevention requirements. Participates in quality and performance improvement activities. Maintains required competencies and certifications. Reports adverse events, near misses, and unsafe conditions per policy. Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork. Provides appropriate guidance and delegation to ancillary staff. Supports orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers. Floats to other departments or assignments as needed.
