Senior Network Engineer

About the Role


We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a growing infrastructure team supporting a large enterprise environment. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on wireless networking.


The ideal candidate has experience supporting large-scale network environments, infrastructure upgrades, and enterprise networking technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position with the potential to convert to a full-time employee.

Contract to hire


Hybrid work arrangement (remote with on-site as needed)

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support enterprise wireless network infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing and switching environments.
• Support enterprise network upgrades and modernization initiatives.
• Monitor network performance and ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and hardware issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to maintain a secure and reliable network.
• Document network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Participate in planned maintenance and on-site activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Strong experience designing and deploying enterprise wireless networks.
• Hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies.
• Experience supporting mid-to-large enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in campus or higher education environments.
• Experience supporting large infrastructure refresh or modernization projects.
• Candidates located in Wisconsin or Northern Illinois are preferred.
