Position Overview

Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in inpatient rehabilitation. This role involves planning and delivering professional nursing care to patients in a supportive and dynamic environment within the Midwest region of the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under physician guidance, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and protocols.
• Mentor and train new staff and students, fostering professional growth.
• Perform nursing acts within the scope defined by licensing boards and maintain unit-specific competencies.
• Assess patient needs accurately and develop comprehensive care plans collaboratively with patients and families.
• Promote patient independence by setting care goals and educating patients and families on medical conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
• Administer medications timely and manage medication orders with precision.
• Document patient care and observations thoroughly and promptly according to organizational policies.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding protected health information.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies to ensure coordinated care.

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state or the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policies.
• Previous experience in a similar inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong nursing fundamentals and clinical judgment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills.

Physical Requirements

This role may require occasional heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs) and frequent standing or walking (51-75% of the workday), with or without reasonable accommodation.
