Purpose of Position

To provide department-wide technical leadership and support for the Mirrors Department in all areas of manufacturing. The Mirrors A&T Technician serves as a key technical resource for production execution, manufacturing readiness, documentation ownership, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, training support, CAPA support, and cross-functional coordination. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership to help ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and technically sound manufacturing operations.

The A&T Technician is expected to develop and maintain broad technical knowledge across Mirrors Department processes and systems. While individual assignments may vary, all A&T Technicians are expected to support departmental technical needs and provide backup coverage across critical functions as business needs require.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Manufacturing Support

• Serve as a technical resource for Mirrors Department manufacturing operations, including machining, assembly, inspection, material handling, sealing, and other specialized manufacturing activities.

• Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel to help ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

• Support manufacturing readiness activities to ensure resources, documentation, equipment, and processes are prepared to meet production requirements.

• Support production issue resolution and drive timely corrective actions.

• Help identify risks, barriers, and technical issues that could impact manufacturing execution or product quality.

Process Planning, Documentation & Training

• Own, develop, maintain, and audit controlled manufacturing documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, run plans, build books, training materials, audit records, and other manufacturing documentation.

• Ensure technical documentation remains accurate, current, and compliant with applicable quality and customer requirements.

• Support work order generation, manufacturing records, routing documentation, and related process control systems.

• Create and maintain technical training materials and reference documents.

• Assist with qualification, onboarding, and cross-training activities to improve departmental flexibility and technical capability.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Support departmental compliance with safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements.

• Lead troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and problem-solving activities related to safety, quality, and process performance.

• Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and effectiveness verification.

• Participate in investigations related to process deviations, quality concerns, and manufacturing issues.

• Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

• Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing and process data to support decision making and process optimization.

• Lead or support technical projects focused on process capability, quality improvement, productivity improvements, waste reduction, and operational excellence.

• Support implementation of process changes and validation activities associated with improvement initiatives.

Project & Team Support

• Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Leadership to support departmental objectives.

• Communicate technical issues, risks, and improvement opportunities effectively to stakeholders.

• Support planning and execution of production, development, and customer-related activities.

• Participate in meetings and reviews as required to support operational performance and business objectives.

• Capture and maintain technical knowledge related to manufacturing processes, procedures, and best practices.

• Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, technical ownership, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze information, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to create, maintain, and audit technical documentation.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple functions.

• Proficiency with computer-based applications, including Microsoft Office tools.

• Experience supporting manufacturing operations, technical processes, quality systems, or production environments preferred.

• Experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, corrective action, and data analysis preferred.

Typical Work Hours

The work schedule for this position will follow the operator schedule or business needs of the Mirrors Department, as determined by management.

The range for this position is $59,029.00 - $81,165.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
