Job Details Location: Phoenix, AZ 85044 Education Level: 4 Year Degree Category: Nonprofit - Social Services (Upon contract of award) About the Program The Foster Home Licensing Coordinator for La Jornada is responsible for licensing foster homes for short‑term transitional foster care. Responsibilities include licensing, re‑licensing, and retention of quality foster homes, ensuring licensed homes meet or exceed bed capacity in the assigned location. Bachelor’s Degree required; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Responsibilities Actively support, represent, and extend the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Conduct home studies, assist foster parents in completing licensing applications, initiate background check processes, and deliver required foster parent training in a timely manner. Work closely with the Foster Parent Recruiter to accommodate licensing and documentary needs and to identify and overcome licensing barriers. Develop comprehensive home studies for each potential family and submit for approval. Schedule all required foster home inspections per state licensing requirements and assist foster parents in prepping homes for inspections. Follow the recruitment and retention plan to assist foster families in meeting and maintaining initial and ongoing trainings, certifications, and licensure requirements. Maintain constant foster parent communication to keep caregivers updated on the licensing process and resolve licensing issues. Maintain ongoing contact with state licensing agencies and federal stakeholders as needed. Act as Program Subject Matter Expert (SME) in matters related to licensing, recruiting, and bed capacity; update cross‑functional teams on bed availability and complete reports/logs. Upload, maintain, and update all foster parent information and home records in Evolve Program; keep and organize physical files for audits. Participate as a representative of the program in state file audits as required. Perform all work consistently with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work or a comparable human services field from an accredited institution. Two (2) years of work experience in direct service with minors and families strongly preferred. Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers; experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs. Fluency in English and Spanish (bilingual); Spanish fluency required. Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage. 21 years of age, valid state driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and good driving record. Other Skills Willingness to work flexible and non‑traditional hours for the benefit of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served. Capacity to be flexible and responsive to minors served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal customers. Physical Demands Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity. Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental application. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, pulling, and carrying. Ability to travel frequently and drive during extended periods, with frequency varying based on program demands.
