Location: All Easton, Redding and Region 9 Schools Date Available: Immediate Openings Position Type: Substitute Date Posted: 8/7/2024 Closing Date: Until filled Easton, Redding & Region 9 Schools are seeking reliable individuals who will serve as substitute custodians in our five schools. Hours of work vary, but most shifts are 2 pm to 10 pm or 3 pm to 11 pm. Salary/Benefits Substitute pay is $18.50/hour. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies Fingerprinting/background check required Reports To and Receives Instruction From Head Custodian and/or Lead Night Custodian Job Responsibilities Include Cleans and monitors designated spaces and equipment in the building, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and waxing floors; rubbish removal Cleans and disinfects bathroom sinks, toilets and urinals, mirrors Checks hand soap, paper towel, & tissue supplies Cleans classroom sinks/faucets Replaces light bulbs as needed Unlocks and locks premises, secures windows and activates/deactivates the alarm systems Cleans and maintains custodial equipment daily after each use Helps in unloading of freight as needed with delivery to specified areas Moves classroom furniture/boxed supplies as needed Assists in clearing/sanding of school sidewalks and entrances during inclement weather Physical Demands of Job Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on ladders Push/pull items such as tables, stacked chairs, bleachers, and/or cleaning equipment Application Process Applications will only be accepted online at the district Web site: Direct link to the application page is: Online application must include Formal letter of application addressed to Human Resources Manager Resume Three recent letters of recommendation Deadline for Applications Until filled.
