Director of Recruiting

Director of Recruiting – West Des Moines Office Responsible for recruiting and onboarding Class A Drivers to meet company objectives and minimize turnover. Schedule: Monday‑Friday 7am‑5pm. Day in the Life Manage a team of Driver Recruiters and Processors. Communicate with Operation Managers regarding recruiting needs, job specifications, qualifications and skills required. Assist with Communications and Social Media efforts to target Driver Applicants and Workforce. Work with ad agencies that target Drivers to create a steady flow of qualified applicants. Compile and analyze data to recommend cost‑efficient advertising sources. Create and design advertisements in trade publications and other print media. Coach and train recruiters to qualify, sell and close Drivers over the phone and electronic communications. Lead the process to ensure candidates understand the position and meet qualifications; approve applicants for hire. Create a positive hiring and onboarding experience for Driver candidates. Ensure all necessary documentation is obtained for DOT Driver files. Assist in a wide array of pre‑ and post‑orientation Driver retention issues. Work with internal departments to answer Driver questions, concerns, and/or resolve issues. Research, plan and organize new and creative recruiting strategies to stay ahead of industry trends. Provide reports to the Management Team detailing recruiting efforts. Develop relationships with local driving schools, unemployment offices and military installations as additional sources of applicants. Monitor pay stability and overall satisfaction of driver competitive pay. Be willing to travel to Fort Dodge Headquarters on an as‑needed basis. Other duties as assigned. Must Haves Minimum high school diploma or GED. 4‑year degree in a business field preferred. Expert knowledge of the internet and Microsoft Office software. Experience with logistics/trucking industry. 3–5 years job‑related experience required. Previous supervisory experience in a transportation environment.
