Compensation: JPY 8 million to JPY 10 million plus bonus

Work style: Approximately 50 percent office and 50 percent remote after probation

  The Opportunity
A leading global reinsurance organization is seeking a bilingual Accountant for its Japan finance team. Reporting directly to the Japan CFO, this hands-on role is divided approximately equally between Life technical accounting and expense or general accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle general ledger postings covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and employee expenses in Concur.
• Support quarterly and annual closing, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support daily cash positioning, working capital and bank reconciliations.
• Process Life and Health reinsurance statements of account and ensure technical postings follow defined accounting flows, the chart of accounts and booking rules.
• Maintain technical balance-sheet reconciliations and support closing, movement analysis, variance explanations and regulatory-reporting schedules.
• Maintain process documentation, coordinate with relevant teams and identify opportunities to reduce manual work.
