Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Paint Prep Technician / Painter's Helper to join a growing custom fabrication shop in Broken Arrow. This position is responsible for preparing fabricated components and surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and performing other paint preparation tasks to ensure a high-quality finished product.

The ideal candidate has previous automotive body shop or industrial paint preparation experience, takes pride in producing quality work, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum 1 year of professional paint prep or automotive body shop experience
• Experience using DA sanders, compounds, and other paint preparation equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Clean and prepare metal surfaces for painting through sanding, masking, taping, and body filler application
• Work closely with the lead painter to maintain quality and production standards
• Prepare fabricated parts for paint according to project specifications
• Maintain an efficient workflow while meeting production deadlines
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Assist with additional shop and production duties as assigned
• Safely climb ladders and handle physically demanding tasks as required
• Support a positive, productive, and team-oriented workplace

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with AkzoNobel Ultra Low VOC Paint Systems
• Experience spraying Dryvit products
• Background in custom fabrication or industrial manufacturing
• Knowledge of automotive refinishing techniques and paint systems

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs as required
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements throughout the shift
• Ability to climb ladders and work at varying heights safely
• Comfortable working around paint products, fabrication equipment, and industrial machinery while wearing required PPE
