Position Overview

Komar, a global leader in the design, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution of high-quality sleepwear, layering, and intimates is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Designer specializing in Heritage Sleepwear. This role will support the design and development of timeless, classic sleepwear collections which also scales into a lifestyle brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Design team in developing seasonal sleepwear collections from concept through final product.
\n
• Research heritage, vintage, and archival references for inspiration in silhouettes, prints, patterns, trims, and details.
\n
• Maintain the authenticity of classic sleepwear aesthetics while incorporating updated colors, fabrics, and modern design elements.
\n
• Create and update sketches, colorways, print layouts, technical details, and presentation boards.
\n
• Assist with print and pattern development, including placement, repeats, scale, and color execution.
\n
• Collaborate with Product Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, and Sourcing teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout development.
\n
• Review samples and provide design comments and revisions as needed.
\n
• Maintain accurate design files, line sheets, color cards, and seasonal development materials.
\n
• Help research fabrics, trims, embellishments, labels, and other components appropriate for heritage sleepwear.
\n
• Stay informed on market trends, consumer preferences, competitive product, and emerging sleepwear trends.
\n
• Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and presentations.
\n
• Ensure all designs align with brand aesthetic, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field preferred.
\n
• 2–4 years of fashion design experience, preferably in sleepwear, apparel, intimates, or related categories.
\n
• Strong understanding of classic and heritage-inspired apparel design.
\n
• Knowledge of textiles, prints, patterns, color, trims, and garment construction.
\n
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of PLM systems is a plus.
\n
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate design concepts clearly.
\n
• Ability to balance traditional heritage aesthetics with contemporary commercial design.
\n
• Strong sense of color, proportion, and print scale.
\n
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and proactive approach.
