AEMT / EMT / PARAMEDIC - Part-time Washoe County Jail, Reno, NV. Part‑time position with full‑time day shifts available. Salary range $20.90–$22.00 per hour. Schedule: biweekly rotation—Week 1: Saturday; Week 2: Wednesday. New graduates are encouraged to apply; we will train you. Responsibilities Job Duties / Responsibilities Responding to emergencies, administering medications, and coordinating with other staff to ensure inmate health and safety. Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history. Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight, and draw blood. Document medical history, including medications, treatment, and medical conditions. Assist with the maintenance of medical equipment and supplies within the facility. Complete intake screening. Administer and read PPD. Ensure the safety and security of inmates and staff during medical procedures and transport. Observe and report changes in patients' physical or mental health to nurses. Qualifications Requirements / Qualifications Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a higher‑level Paramedic program. Ability to obtain the necessary state licenses for EMT or Paramedic. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred). Ability to pass a criminal background check. Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information. Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
