Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for cardiothoracic surgery patients in a Level I Trauma Center. Ensure high-quality patient outcomes through comprehensive circulatory support and collaboration with surgical teams.

Responsibilities:

• Circulate complex cardiac cases, general OR procedures, and vascular surgeries, including CABG, TAVR, LVAD, Impella, Valve repairs, and transplants.
• Monitor and respond to intraoperative patient needs, maintaining sterile technique and adhering to safety protocols.
• Administer medications, manage equipment, and support anesthesia providers during surgeries.
• Document procedures accurately in electronic health records using EPIC system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and emergency response readiness.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols, including maintaining required radiation badges.

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina or multi-state RN license in hand prior to start date.
• Minimum of 2 years of circulating experience in cardiothoracic, vascular, or general OR settings.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with complex procedures.
• Must possess a radiation badge or be willing to obtain one through the agency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with surgical teams.
