Assistant Project Manager - Chemical Distribution System

Position Overview Assistant Project Manager – an entry‑level project management role that involves learning essential duties while supporting the Project Management team. Responsibilities Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes. Oversee assigned project activities, such as planning, coordinating, and resolving problem areas while maintaining company/project policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain change orders, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs. Prepare logs and other project documentation for construction meetings. Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely. Create and issue subcontractor contracts. Assemble and deliver owner and maintenance manuals. Ensure the project quality control plan is followed. Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for owner and maintenance manuals. Keep the warranty log up to date. Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., and provide project management support. Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel in the area of responsibility. Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress. Create job information sheets and establish job files. Prepare price change orders and project reports and documentation. Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field. Minimum one year of experience in a construction‑related role (or equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience). Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods. Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with Oracle is preferred. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities. Strong oral and written communication skills. Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player. Professional demeanor and ability to interact with managers, employees, vendors, and clients at all levels. Travel Up to 25% Working Conditions This position is performed primarily on active construction sites. Activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise levels are typically low to medium.
