Installation Technician Helper

Role Overview:

A fire sprinkler system installation technician helperassists foremen (experienced technicians) in installing, repairing, andmaintaining fire sprinkler systems in commercial, residential, and industrialbuildings. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to buildskills in fire protection and construction trades.

Core responsibilities:

• Assist installers/fitters with layout, assembly, and installation of fire sprinkler piping and related equipment.
• Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from the job site.
• Cut, thread, and install pipes under supervision.
• Help with measuring, drilling, hanging pipe supports, and preparing work areas.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring equipment is properly organized.
• Support in testing systems for proper operation and compliance with local, state and federal codes.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate basic hand and power tools (examples: drills, saws, pipe wrenches, etc.)
• Follow instructions from foremen, project managers and supervisors.
• Assist in reporting issues or hazards.

Essential skills andqualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Prior construction experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Willingness to learn installation techniques and fire protection standards.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments (heights, attics, crawl spaces, outdoors, etc.)
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation (preferred).
