Surgical Technologist

Surgical Technologist
The surgical technologist under direct supervision by a registered professional nurse, surgeon, or other healthcare professional, serves as part of a medical team providing surgical care to patients, facilitates the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED
- Successful completion of the surgical technologist program
- One to two years of operating room work experience
- Basic cardiac life support (BCLS)
- Hold and maintain a certified surgical technologist (CST) credential administered by the national board of surgical technology and surgical assisting
Incumbents to the position as of January 1, 2015: Provides evidence was employed as surgical technologist in healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to January 1, 2015. Demonstrated ability to do arithmetic and communicate in oral or written English.
