Job Description: Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist - Vascular

Position Type: Contract

Shift: Day Shift (Monday - Friday)

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (may vary based on departmental needs)


Position Overview


We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist - Vascular to perform advanced diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures. The technologist will obtain high-quality diagnostic images and measurements to assist physicians in accurately diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. The role also requires timely communication of critical findings to healthcare providers to support immediate clinical decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations using appropriate imaging techniques and protocols.
• Obtain accurate measurements and diagnostic images of cardiac structures and vascular systems .
• Perform procedures such as:
  
  
  • dult and/or pediatric echocardiography
  • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
  • Stress echocardiography
  • Peripheral vascular studies including arterial, renal, and transcranial Doppler exams .
• Review patient medical history and relevant reports prior to performing procedures.
• Identify abnormal findings and promptly communicate critical results to physicians and clinical staff.
• ssist physicians during advanced cardiovascular procedures in specialized clinical environments such as operating rooms, hybrid labs, or cardiac catheterization labs.
• Support complex procedures including:
  
  
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement (SAVR)
  • Other specialized cardiac interventions.
• Ensure proper documentation of procedures and patient information according to clinical standards.
• Maintain accurate records within electronic health record systems and departmental tracking systems.
• Maintain imaging equipment and ensure proper use of ultrasound devices and transducers.
• Follow infection control standards and maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 6 months of related cardiac or vascular ultrasound experience .
• Strong knowledge of cardiac and vascular imaging techniques .

• bility to effectively communicate findings with physicians and healthcare staff.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations when required.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required .
• Completion of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiac Ultrasound program preferred .

Certifications & Licensure


One of the following credentials is required:

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - ARDMS
  
  OR
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - CCI

dditional requirement:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Technical Skills

• Experience evaluating and identifying Chronic Venous Insufficiency .
• Proficiency in ultrasound imaging equipment and digital imaging systems.
