Requires a vocational diploma supplemented by four years of experience in electrical repair, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including a two-way radio, vehicle, hand and power tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work; work involves driving, walking or standing for periods of time, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, climbing, etc., and performing manual tasks. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to 100 pounds and work at heights of 25 - 90 feet.

- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Assists in supervising the duties of assigned apprentices and tradesworkers. Supervisory duties include assigning, reviewing and planning work of others, and maintaining standards. Offers advice and assistance as needed.
- Works from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts; assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment.
- Assists with obtaining prices for and ordering supplies required for projects.
- Responds as needed to after-hours emergency calls
- Assembles scaffolding up to 30 feet.
- Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and reports, including work orders, blueprints, specifications, accident reports, warehouse requests, etc.
- Operates and maintains a variety of equipment, such as a two-way radio, vehicle, air lift, sky hawk, ditch witch, back hoe, truck, auger, hydraulic bender, power tools, hand tools, diagnostic tools, etc.
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals, such as the immediate supervisor, co-workers, District administrators and staff, students, contractors, utility company personnel, sales representatives, etc.
- Complies with all federal laws, state statutes, Board policies, administrative rules, and directives.
Additional Duties:
- Provides assistance to other trades employees as required.
- Inspects work in progress and after completion for compliance with specifications and codes.
- Works with architects and engineers as requested to design new electrical installations.
- Performs related duties as required.
