Are you an experienced preschool teacher? Agudas Achim Preschool is a play-based preschool seeking a teammate who brings joy, patience, responsibility, and consistency. We partner with families and foster children's independence and communication skills within a collaborative environment based on Jewish values. Agudas Achim features a large outdoor playground, sunlight-filled classrooms, daily specials classes, and flexible scheduling for families (early drop off, core program, after care options). 

We are seeking a caring, inspiring and enthusiastic teacher who will be a professional team member in a class of young children. You will work Mon–Fri, (M-Th 8:45-5:00; F 8:45-4:00) or Monday-Friday, 8:45 am-1:15pm (depending on our needs and yours), from Aug 17-June 17.

Best Candidate Has/Is:

• 90-hour Childcare Course (CDA). If 90-hour course is not complete, you are willing to start the coursework this year.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Creative, team player, excellent communicator, nurturing, dedicated, and flexible.
• 3-5 years of experience with young children, ages 2-5.
• Experience working with children with differing abilities 

Responsibilities:

• Support children’s physical, emotional, and special needs.
• Ensure the health and safety of all children with proper supervision and care.
• Be familiar with all student needs and health issues.
• Set up, plan, and implement developmentally appropriate provocations, lessons, and activities
• Follow preschool and synagogue expectations.
• Comply with childcare requirements set by the Office of Childcare, Department of Social Services, and VA State Dept of Ed.
• Support the school's educational philosophy, values, Jewish content, and the children and families' experience.
• Communicate effectively, confidentially, and in a timely manner with the team as needed re: students, families, school.
• Create and maintain documentation of student progress and incidents
• Participate in all team meetings and family programming assigned, beyond school hours.
• Physically able to care for/ensure the safety of all children (needs include lifting, carrying, and running).
