Responsible for successfully completing the required basic training. Able to perform basic job functions with help from co-workers, specialists, and managers on non-basic issues. Must pass the appropriate pre-employment test battery.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Responds to internal and external customer questions via telephone and written correspondence regarding insurance benefits, provider contracts, eligibility and claims.
• Analyzes problems and provides information/solutions.
• Operates a PC/image station to obtain and extract information; documents information, activities and changes in the database.
• Thoroughly documents inquiry outcomes for accurate tracking and analysis.
• Develops and maintains positive customer relations and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests and questions are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Researches and analyzes data to address operational challenges and customer service issues.
• Provides external and internal customers with requested information.
• Under immediate supervision, receives and places follow-up telephone calls / e-mails to answer customer questions that are routine in nature.
• Uses computerized systems for tracking, information gathering and troubleshooting.
Outbound calls are conducted in the ZipDrug business area.

Requirements :

• Requires a HS diploma or equivalent; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
• Previous customer service in a call center or an automated customer service environment preferred. Prior Call Center Experience is a big plus.
• Associates in this role are expected to have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.

Additional Details:

• Candidates must be able to work ANY 8-hour shift within our hours of operation which are as follows: 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM PT / 6:00 AM -7:00 PM MST / 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM CST / 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM EST.
• We are open Monday through Friday (no weekends).
• Training will last a total of 5 weeks with an additional week being a “nesting period” which is where the new associates hit the floor and begin taking phones calls but have the trainers & Operation Experts supporting to help get through questions while getting acclimated to it all.
• During the 6 total weeks of training and nesting, the schedule will be 6:00AM - 2:30 PM PT / 7:00 AM-3:30 MST / 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST / 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM EST and once this period is over, the associate will move to hours based on business need.
During training
• -candidate must be on camera.
• The 8 hour shift will be assigned once training is completed will be based on the attendance, performance, and attitude/engagement displayed through-out training period and must be prepared to work any shift assigned during our hours of operation. The manager will look at time zones to coordinate shifts
All 1-1's with managers and team huddles

• Virtual (primarily work from home; will be expected to come onsite for onboarding, training, or as otherwise required by Managers)
• This role requires candidates to have a quiet and distraction-free workspace, free from any background noises such as those from children or other relatives. Additionally, it is important to ensure that others do not access the work area or their computer
• Associates must have the capability to work with a hard-wired network connection, with an Internet speed that meets the minimum speed requirements of 50 mb download and 10 mb upload.
• Must be located within 50 miles and/or 1 hour max drive from Des Moines, IA.

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, contractors are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
