Welder/Fabricator

This is a LOCAL long term maintenance project so the ideal candidate would live within 50 miles of Chalmette, LA. About the Role: UPS Industrial Services is seeking skilled and experienced Welder IV to join our team. The Welder IV will be responsible for Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts. Please note, there is no per diem offered for these positions. Must have a valid TWIC card. Must be committed to safety and quality Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools. Pass applicable welding qualification tests. Lift and carry objects and materials weighing up to 75 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Climb up on and balance on ladders, scaffolding, or stairs; Perform other duties as may be required by Field Supervision High school graduate or equivalent. ~10 Plus Years of Experience with Tig and Stick Welding Outdoor/Plant Environment UPS Industrial Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
