Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years of ICU experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Vent/trach management, invasive line management (arterial lines, central venous pressure lines, Swanz), drains, chest tubes, Foley management, post-surgical recovery, post-cath experience, CVVH, CRRT preferred. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the ICU. The unit has 17 beds with an average patient census per day. The patient population includes those with sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, intravenous drug abuse, overdose, suicidal ideation, delirium, gastrointestinal bleeds, strokes with TPA, acute renal failure, COVID, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Surgical patients may include general surgery, open abdominal, orthopedic surgeries, ENT, and Client. Cardiac and vascular patients include femoral popliteal bypass, CABG, EVAR, valves, post-catheterizations (radial and femoral approach), abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, and amputations. The unit does not specialize in complex neuro patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, based on acuity levels. Support will be available from CNAs, a receptionist, a charge nurse, a PM ICU supervisor, phlebotomy staff, an educator, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, intensivists, and an ICU-specific pharmacist. The unit uses EPIC for electronic medical records. Travelers may float within the scope of practice to intermediate units, medical surgical units, emergency departments, or observation units as needed. There is a weekend rotation requirement. Holiday expectations align with the contract stipulations. Scrub colors can be any, excluding camouflage, graphics, logos, or designs. Sick calls will prompt a discussion regarding contract evaluation.
