Associate Director, Global Marketing - Obesity

Merck

Merck seeks an Associate Director of Global Marketing focused on obesity to develop commercial strategy for assets in development. The role bridges strategy, asset development, and customer insight, requiring collaboration across clinical, medical affairs, and market access functions to position products for competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

Lead global commercial strategy development for obesity assets in development pipeline
Create differentiated value propositions for healthcare professionals and customers across assets
Apply brand strategy framework to define market focus, differentiators, and positioning
Partner with clinical development and market access teams on commercial implications of development decisions
Monitor competitive landscape and translate insights into actionable strategic recommendations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred
7+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech marketing, market access, strategy, or related roles
Experience in obesity, cardiometabolic, diabetes, cardiovascular, or specialty markets
Proven ability to develop HCP and HCC value propositions and positioning strategies
Strong understanding of early asset development and commercial input into development decisions
Ability to synthesize complex market, clinical, and competitive data into strategic recommendations
Experience with brand strategy frameworks and launch excellence methodologies
