Athletic Event Support Roles

Briarcliff High School Athletics is seeking reliable, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individuals to support our athletic events by filling the following key game-day roles:

1. Timekeeper: Operate game clock and ensure accurate timekeeping throughout athletic events. Coordinate with referees and other officials to maintain game flow.

2. Scorekeeper: Maintain the official scorebook or scoreboard for games. Accurately record game statistics and communicate with coaching staff and referees.

3. Announcer: Provide live commentary and announcements during games. Introduce teams, announce scores, and read scripted messages.

4. Event Chaperone: Supervise students and spectators during home games and events. Ensure a safe, respectful, and sportsmanlike environment in the stands and surrounding areas. Serve as a liaison between event staff, school administrators, and security if needed. Remain visible and approachable throughout the event.

Ideal candidates will have: Knowledge of the sport(s) you are applying to support. Ability to focus and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience (preferred but not required training will be provided). Commitment After-school hours and occasional weekend availability required. Seasonal commitment based on sports schedules.

Reports to: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals Salary: $78 per varsity event, $47 per JV/Modified event.
