Exciting contract opportunity available for a skilled paraprofessional seeking to provide meaningful support to students in a middle school environment near Wilmington, DE. This role focuses on one-on-one assistance within the BRIDGES program, dedicated to students on the autism spectrum and those with complex learning needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required (pending permits must be accompanied by a DEEDS portal screenshot).
  • Experience working with students who have autism and/or significant learning challenges is preferred.
  • Comfortable providing assistance with feeding and toileting if necessary (in addition to support from onsite nurses).
  • Must agree to complete $85 CBC fingerprinting as part of pre-hire requirements.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated classroom and instructional support to a female student participating in the BRIDGES program at the middle school level.
  • Adapt instructional activities under the direction of certified staff to facilitate learning and inclusion.
  • Assist, as needed, in personal care tasks, including feeding and toileting, ensuring the student’s dignity and comfort.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and positive environment for learning and social development.
  • Collaborate with nurses, teachers, and staff to implement individualized supports and strategies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to program guidelines at all times.

Role Details:

  • Start: ASAP through June 8, 2027.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week, 8:05am - 2:55pm (30-minute unpaid lunch).
  • Onsite position at Springer Middle School.
  • For RBTs: Agency and district supervision is not provided; para pay and duties only.
