Distribution Facilities Specialist

Summary This position is located in the Division of Administration, Facilities and Property Branch. The incumbent is responsible for storage planning and space utilization, and conference room setups, as well as shipment and receiving planning, scheduling of bulk items, office supplies and equipment for the NLRB Headquarters and offices throughout the US. The incumbent leads the effort and ensures the efficient and timely movement of bulk items, office supplies and equipment. Responsibilities As a, Distribution Facilities Specialist, GS- 2030-11, your typical work assignments may include: Provides recommendations and at times direction for the NLRB Headquarters distribution, principally handling office equipment, supplies and furniture. Analyzes and plans workload data and recommends priorities and distribution of resources, including labor and equipment for assigned organizational areas. Resolves inadequacies of personnel, mechanized and materials handling equipment, physical facilities, work methods and techniques, and other operation deficiencies that prevent proper receipt, handling, and physical control of material. Independently organizes, plans, and conducts a variety of studies related to problems or areas of concern, including bin and bulk storage space and receiving and shipping functions. Generates all correspondence and initiates communications with agency employees and vendors to ensure that files are complete; coordinates work with Facilities and Property Branch staff and ensures that a property inventory of all accountable assets in the warehouse is conducted annually. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate for the Distribution Facilities Specialist (Warehouse & Supply Specialist) position will have experience planning and coordinating warehouse, supply, and distribution operations, including receiving, shipping, storage, inventory control, and materials handling. The candidate should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess workload and storage requirements, establish priorities, and develop solutions to improve operational efficiency. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential to effectively coordinate with employees, vendors, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities independently, and skilled in maintaining accurate property accountability and efficient warehouse operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Distribution Facilities Specialist at the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience includes: Experience planning and coordinating warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, shipping, storage, issuing, inventory control, and the movement of supplies, equipment, furniture, or other materials; Experience independently analyzing warehouse or supply operations, including workload requirements, storage space utilization, materials handling equipment, or work methods; identifying operational deficiencies; and developing recommendations or solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness; AND Experience planning and coordinating inventory and distribution activities, including determining storage or movement requirements, establishing workload priorities, recommending the distribution of labor or equipment, maintaining accountability of assets, and coordinating with customers, vendors, or other stakeholders. OR EDUCATION: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or L.L.M., if related. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) This experience must be fully supported and articulated in your resume to receive consideration. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS All current and former Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year of experience at the GS-09 or equivalent grade level of the federal service, is required to qualify for this position. (NOTE: All current and former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure code (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive). You may determine your current status by checking block 24 on your SF-50. Block 24 must reflect "1" or "2". Also, block 34 must reflect "1". NOTE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Education must be accredited by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement).
