About This Role
Our ideal candidate will create a nurturing environment where young minds can thrive. Key objectives include ensuring a safe and engaging preschool experience, fostering positive relationships, and recognizing individual differences.
- To provide a high-quality and safe preschool environment that nurtures the unique potential of each child.
- To build strong connections with families, staff, and the wider community.
We're seeking a dedicated professional to take on the following responsibilities:
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines issued by Walnut Grove Children's Learning Center.
- Complete approved training, with a minimum of 16 hours of professional development each year.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under their care.
- Develop and implement engaging activities for their assigned group, including weekly lesson plans submitted to the director.
- Set and work towards individual goals for each child, planning activities and strategies to support their progress.
- Conduct parent conferences, as needed, to keep families informed and involved.
- Monitor and record each child's development, behavior, and progress.
- Use positive guidance techniques to promote healthy behavior.
- Maintain a well-organized, attractive, and functional learning environment.
- Report any necessary repairs, replacements, or maintenance to the director.
- Promote a positive and inclusive staff culture.
- Attend all staff meetings and training programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational, planning, and execution skills, including time management
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Minimum 1-year experience working with groups of preschool-age children
- CPR and First Aid Certification
