Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. This is a key role for a commercially minded and technically capable professional who can manage complex programmes, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, cost and customer outcomes.


You will take overall responsibility for project delivery, including scope, programme, budget, procurement, risk management and stakeholder engagement. Duties will include developing and maintaining delivery plans; managing design, construction and commissioning activities; overseeing contractors, consultants and internal teams; monitoring progress and financial performance; and ensuring that projects comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and contractual requirements. You will identify and resolve issues promptly, manage change control, prepare accurate reports for senior stakeholders and support the development of project governance and delivery processes. The role will also involve building effective relationships with clients, regulators, supply-chain partners and local communities.


Applicants should have significant experience managing water, wastewater, utilities or other complex infrastructure projects, ideally with responsibility for high-value capital works and multiple delivery partners. A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent, would be advantageous, alongside a relevant technical, engineering or construction background. You will need strong commercial and contractual awareness, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to lead teams in a demanding, changing environment. Experience of NEC contracts, design and build delivery, health and safety management, environmental compliance and project risk management is highly desirable. A proactive, collaborative approach and a track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget are essential.
