As an Associate Actuarial Director, you'll use your actuarial expertise, analytics, and leadership to the forefront, supporting ASO strategy, and partnering across the business to influence results. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Travel for this role will be less than 10% per year, meeting with Consultants around the country.Primary Responsibilities:Analyze and interpret the key drivers of health care trends and network competitive positioningConduct and evaluate studies on pricing, utilization and health care costs; determine the impact on pricing, guarantees, and health product proposalsCollaborate with Healthcare Economics, Consultant Relations, Network, Client Management, and Client Development teams to create actionable insights and reportingPerform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling to provide management with statistical findings and conclusionsDevelop and present strategic analyses and recommendations to senior leadership teamsCollaborate with external industry business partners and consultantsDesign and run complex data programs as you perform quantitative analysis of actuarial, financial, utilization, and cost dataRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation5+ years of experience in actuarial science, data science, predictive analytics, or related quantitative disciplinesExperience gathering, analyzing, and applying competitive intelligence to support business strategyExperience applying AI and large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to solve complex business problemsExperience presenting technical information to leadership and non-technical audiencesProven ability to translate emerging technologies into practical, scalable solutions for business usersProven excellent collaboration, communication, and change leadership skillsAdvanced or higher proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and SQLPreferred Qualifications:Proficiency with SAS (Statistical Analysis System)Experience in health care consulting, payer, or employer-sponsored health plan environmentsBasic proficiency with Tableau and/or R and/or PythonKey Competencies:Anticipates business needs and proactively develops solutions to address themSolves complex problems through innovative and data-driven approachesPerforms advanced analytical and conceptual evaluations to support decision-makingInfluences cross-functional stakeholders and business outcomes through insight and expertiseTranslate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for leadershipMay lead projects, strategic initiatives, or cross-functional workgroupsBuild solid partnerships and collaborate effectively across the organizationPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment.
