Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required: 2 twelve-hour shifts per 6-week period
• Epic EMR used; experience required
• Omnicell medication system used
• Scrubs are provided (navy surgical scrubs)
• Free parking available with pass distributed at start

Requirements

• Active SC or multi-state/compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before reporting to the facility
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Beginner, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Intermediate, FHM, and NRP — AHA certifications only
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Advanced, STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
• Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager approval and unit needs
