Accounts Payable Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk is responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices, issuing payments, and maintaining proper financial records related to accounts payable. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely payments and supporting the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role is based out of our Roanoke, VA office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation to ensure

accuracy

• Route invoices for appropriate approval in accordance with company policy
• Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies or payment

issues

• Maintain accurate and organized AP files and records
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Assist with month-end close by preparing AP accruals and reports
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
• Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, P21, or

similar ERP platforms)

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle account discrepancies with

professionalism Compensation: $21.00 per hour Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus.
