Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (11:00–21:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a highly diverse OR service line including Orthopedics/Total Joint, Trauma, Neuro, GYN/Urology, Vascular, and Thoracic specialties
• Perform scrub and/or circulating duties for a broad range of surgical procedures including laparoscopic, robotic (Da Vinci Xi), open, and endoscopic cases
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as a mandatory competency requirement for all RNs in this role
• Adhere to universal protocol (time-out) procedures, infection control standards, laser and radiation safety, and proper specimen handling and labeling
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the unit
• Float to other areas within the facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience
• EPIC electronic health record experience is a hard requirement
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement required
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including Vascular, Thoracic, Neuro, and Robotic-assisted procedures
• Familiarity with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Experience with complex cases such as Whipple procedure, craniotomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, and free flap/microvascular reconstruction
• Flexibility with scheduling; block schedule requests will be considered on a best-effort basis
