About Our Team St. Charles Health System is a 13-bed acute rehabilitation unit dedicated to helping patients who are recovering from various injuries or illnesses. In partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation, this facility provides 24 hours of nursing care and intensive inpatient therapy to provide an outstanding experience and quality outcomes for all of the patients we serve. Position Overview As an Admissions Coordinator, you will work under the direction of the Director of Business Development and be responsible for patient admissions, insurance verification and other insurance verification duties as directed. You will be responsible for obtaining the necessary demographic information of the patient which may require interviewing patients or their representatives. This position is also responsible for preparing/processing admitting forms and keeping abreast of all new insurance updates and regulations. Direct supervisory for all admissions associates. How You'll Contribute Assist and coordinate in‑take and pre‑admission screening process Perform on‑site (typically in referring facility) clinical judgment to determine appropriateness of patient for admission Communicate to patients and families rehabilitation and facility options Communicate to patients determined appropriate for admission the patient's expectations and requirements for participation Secure information relating to patient's resources and benefits Function as initial contact for external case management and discharge planner personnel with payors and hospital facilities Other duties as assigned Why Join Us Comprehensive Benefits: Multiple levels of medical, dental and vision coverage for full‑time and part‑time employees. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Admitting and/or medical insurance preferred. Experience in handling patient admissions preferred. Extensive knowledge of insurance and their benefits and admitting forms. Proficiency in recording admission reservations. Management experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language. Good communication skills. Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel. Ability to deal tactfully with patients, hospital staff and the general public.
