Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial garage doors and openers. Your expertise will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of garage systems, contributing to customer satisfaction and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, utilizing your technical skills and construction experience to deliver top-quality service. This is a commission based position, pay listed is expected average based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain a wide range of garage doors, openers, and related hardware in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Conduct inspections of garage door systems to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively during installation and repair processes
- Collaborate with team members to complete construction projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and customer interactions for quality assurance
Requirements
- Proven experience with garage door installation, repair, and maintenance (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and construction site experience
- Familiarity with construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings
- Expertise in using hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and fabrication techniques
- Experience with building material installation including framing, trim carpentry, electrical work, door hanging, painting.
- Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions within construction projects
- Knowledge of safety protocols including adherence to OSHA standards or equivalent safety guidelines
- Strong communication skills for interpreting technical instructions and collaborating with team members
- Experience with construction inspection processes including quality control checks
