The office is headquartered in Westport, CT with regional offices in New York City, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi.Position SummaryAs a Senior Accounting Associate, you'll take ownership of core bookkeeping and accounting activities across our entities while leading key projects and processes within the accounting function. This role offers meaningful exposure to a wide range of accounting and investment-related work, with the opportunity to tackle new challenges every day, contribute to process improvement, and build long-term, trusted partnerships across the organization.Day-to-day Responsibilities Would Include a Combination of the Following:Own and perform complex bookkeeping and accounting activities for investment and operating entities, including:Executing day-to-day general ledger activity as part of the monthly close processMaintaining general ledgers used for tax and financial reportingPreparing bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliationsPerforming cash management activitiesPreparing and maintaining schedules, analyses, and reports to support tax return preparationGather and analyze information across investment reports, including capital gains, interest and dividend income, and alternative and fixed income securities, and appropriately book related activityOwn and drive key accounting and financial projects and recurring processesReview disbursements, reconciliations, credit card transactions, general ledger activity, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and completenessIdentify areas of risk or inefficiency and design and implement solutions or process improvementsCollaborate with internal stakeholders and provide accounting support as neededPerform additional duties and special projects as assignedThe Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, and Values:Driven to achieve excellence – high standards and expectationsHighly organized and reliableAbility to synthesize, report, and analyze informationAbility to manage and drive multiple initiatives to completionProven ability to work independently with excellent judgment and discretionExcellent written and oral communication skillsThrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment and be comfortable navigating ambiguityIllustrative Benefits:100% company paid medical premiums17 company paid holidaysFriday summer hoursMonthly community happy hoursHybrid work environmentFree catered food services for in-office daysGenerous PTO offeringCasual dress code150% 401(k) match up to $7,500 and 100% match above $7,500 ($15k match limit)Gym reimbursement, back up childcare services, insurance, financial, and legal services, and much more!Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldAt least seven (7) years of progressive accounting experienceExperience working with enterprise general ledger systems such as Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, or comparable platformsPreferred Qualifications:Hands-on experience with investment and/or expense accountingAdvanced degree (MBA) and/or professional certification (CPA or CA)Prior exposure to a large or multi-family office(s), or similarly complex organizationExperience collaborating with international teams across time zones and regionsCompensation:Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary in the range from $150,000 -$200,000 (inclusive of a merit-based bonus, dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset) and an excellent benefits package, including paid time off ranging from 15 to 25 days based on years of service, paid sick and safe leave, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid parental time off, birth mother recovery pay, sick family member pay, parental ramp back up program, gym reimbursement and generous employer match for 401k.Please note we are unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this position.At the DFO, we believe our biggest asset is our people.
