ReactJS Frontend DeveloperCompany: National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) Location: RemoteOverview One of the most important assets of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) is data along with the ever-increasing challenge of managing and processing of large volumes and varieties of data acquired by the public health programs. The increased availability of channels for receiving data has caused a shift in the strategic and operational approaches to information technology as it relates the ability to scale solutions as we onboard more users and acquire more data. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud has been selected to support NCIPC programs data management lifecycle and Big Data projects that are increasingly necessary to perform validation, exploration, analytics, visualization, reporting and dissemination of datasets that utilize existing and emerging IT tools and services. NCIPC continues to focus on leveraging Information Technology (IT) and data modernization in support of scientific research, Informatics, and public health programs that align with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention strategic plan. NCIPC Office of Informatics (OI) support a growing portfolio of systems and IT services and provide Center-wide leadership in project management best practices, IT governance, system interoperability, reducing redundancy, leveraging emerging technologies, increasing accountability of IT policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.Objectives The objectives of this contract are to:Build, test, demonstrate and monitor innovative cloud tools and services on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform (Injury Data Management. The Enterprise Life cycle (EPLC) will be used to ensure industry IT standards and technology.Review and provide guidance on information technology and data modernization.Provide SharePoint shared services in support of NCIPC program offices and programs.Automate day to day program, administrative and personnel operations.Provide IT technical expertise to NCIPC Office of Informatics and Injury Prevention Programs.Provide NCIPC Divisions, Programs, Offices, and external partners with cost and technologically effective information technology services and IT solutions that align with NCIPC strategies and program needs.Reduce or eliminate redundant processes, systems, or unnecessary duplication.Ensure proper documentation, training and knowledge transfer of IT systems, tools and services.Full compliance with all Federal, HHS and CDC IT Security, 508 and privacy policies.Scope of Work The contract requires high level, professional support capable of bringing expertise and experience to NCIPC. The scope of work for this project includes building and maintenance of cloud tools and services on the Amazon web services (AWS) platform (Injury Data Management platform, IDMP). The scope is to manage and process various types and sizes of large datasets. It also includes building and migrating SharePoint tools and services that process workflows and maintain sites and subsites for programmatic collaborations. The development of executive dashboards for scientific, programmatic, administrative datasets using best practices, tools and services around data visualization.Essential Duties and Qualifications Be familiar with the process of migrating between JavaScript UI frameworks. Be familiar enough with the Angular 5 JavaScript UI framework to help migrate and modernize the solution using the ReactJS framework. Knowledge of cloud hosting environments is preferred with a focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS). UI being developed will be hosted on a Microsoft IIS server which requires the hired individual to maintain and ensure functionality. A knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is also preferred. Currently the hosted software solution has tight integration with SQL Server and uses several automated script generation services. You will need to have a fairly detailed understanding of SQL scripts, calling stored procedures, manipulation of views, etc. It is required that you have a knowledge of version control using Git and can jump straight into maintaining and updating current repositories.
