Job Summary

The Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) Physician provides comprehensive medical care to women throughout all stages of life, with a focus on reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the female reproductive system. The OB/GYN Physician diagnoses and treats medical conditions, performs surgical procedures, provides preventive care, and collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients.
• Conduct routine examinations, screenings, and preventive health assessments. 
• Monitor and manage prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care. 
• Diagnose and treat disorders affecting the female reproductive system. 
• Perform gynecologic and obstetric surgical procedures, including minimally invasive surgeries when appropriate. 
• Interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies. 
• Counsel patients regarding family planning, contraception, fertility, menopause, and reproductive health issues. 
• Manage high-risk pregnancies and coordinate care with specialists as needed. 
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. 
• Respond to medical emergencies related to obstetric and gynecologic care. 
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, procedures, medications, and preventive health measures. 
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing medical education, and departmental activities. 
• Comply with all healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive health, and women's healthcare practices. 
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills. 
• Proficiency in performing obstetric and gynecologic procedures and surgeries.
• Ability to manage routine and high-risk pregnancies.
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills. 
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish trust with patients and families. 
• Critical thinking and sound medical judgment in complex situations. 
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
