Production Supervisor

Second Shift Production Supervisor

The Second Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring schedule adherence, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role acts as the central communication hub between production teams and cross-functional departments, such as Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Drive initiatives to reduce production errors, improve quality, and increase productivity.
• Adhere to production schedules by assigning personnel to work areas, monitoring progress, resolving line constraint problems, and reporting results through shift production summaries.
• Plan, oversee, and document training of personnel.
• Work closely with purchasing, planning, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability and schedule adherence.
• Moderate the flow between production and shipping.
• Act as a liaison between Purchasing and Planning departments.
• Support performance measurement and documentation of manufacturing processes.
• Drive continuous improvement projects.
• Support digitalization efforts to implement tools such as Digital Work Instructions, Operator Displays, Performance/Status Dashboards, and other connected tools.
• Manage production floor inventory.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of successful experience in an Assembly/Manufacturing or related field in a supervisor role.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• Project management experience.
• Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
• Ability to interpret or learn to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Strong leadership and time management experience.
• Demonstrates full understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, talent development, and performance management.
• Experience collaborating and team building with different internal organizations and locations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with computer programming and/or database management.
• Experience with SAP or a similar MRP system.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled facility during the second shift, Monday to Friday, from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with potential Saturday shifts from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
